10 car essentials every woman needs

Spare tires and car jacks are pretty important items to have in your car. However, life tends to throw a lot more than just flat tires. Every woman should have these ten essential items stored somewhere in her car for those everyday emergencies:

1. Tampons

I would suggest buying a small box of tampons and keeping it in your glovebox or center console. I don’t always carry a purse and have saved myself multiple times by keeping a tampon in a reliable spot.

2. Change of Clothes

I use my spare change of clothes at least once a week. Having an extra set saves me a trip of having to go home and change out of my work attire when someone asks me to go grab a drink or hangout last minute. I also like to keep an extra bathing suit in my car because you never know when it’s going to be a good beach day!

3. Razor

Hey, even Kylie Jenner has been known to dry shave in her car.  I keep the Schick Intuition Sensitive Care razor in my car because it has a soap pad built in. I know this still might sound weird, but you’ll thank me the next time you’re driving to your date’s place and realize you forgot to shave.

4. Toothbrush

The luxury of having a toothbrush in your car is that when you forget to brush, you can still do a dry brush to get rid of that filmy feeling on your teeth. If you can’t do the toothbrush, gum will not get rid of all the plaque on your teeth, but it will give you minty fresh breath!

5. Deodorant

No one likes a Smelly Sally – keep a travel sized deodorant somewhere in your car.

6. Hair Ties and Bobby Pins

These hair essentials are a must-have in your car. Many women have jobs that require a ponytail or hair that’s pinned back, so save yourself a trip to CVS and keep a handful of hair ties and bobby pins in a Ziplock bag.

7. Aspirin

Headaches, back pain, stomach cramps – these are those all too familiar aches and pains that can happen on the road. A little aspirin can go a long way when you’re stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

8. Protein Bar

A protein bar is a great pick-me-up for when you need a boost of energy and don’t have time to stop. Try to get something that won’t melt! I like to store a peanut butter Cliff Bar in my car because they keep the best.

9. Makeup Wipes

Definitely an essential item to have in your car for fixing your makeup after leaving the house. Makeup wipes are also handy for rubbing an iced-coffee stain out of your blouse!

10. Emergency Money

Keep some cash in your car for any emergency moments. A few years ago, I forgot my wallet and was stuck in the middle of nowhere with no gas. Take my advice and keep a twenty hidden somewhere – it’s cheaper than having to call a tow truck!
