We tried Taco Bell’s Naked Chicken Chalupa before it was gone

Late night drunkenness usually ends up with a Taco Bell run or being naked. And now you can get the best of both worlds by swapping out a hard or soft shell for some fried chicken.

Yes, fried chicken as a taco shell – the Naked Chicken Chalupa.

You should consider running to your nearest Taco Bell if you haven’t seen, heard or even tasted it by now because it won’t last long.

We don’t have an official date, but Taco Bell has said they’re going to phase it out in March and it’s already off their website. Today is the 2nd of March, so do your wallet, stomach — and maybe not your butt — a favor and try it out before it’s too late.

As someone who tends to avoid Taco Bell, I have to admit I was curious and ended up hitting the drive-thru more than once over the past week for a taste. (I justify my sober actions with this review.) Within the first bite, you know something is different even if at first glance it looks pretty puny. But don’t worry, it’ll fill you up more than your average taco — for at least an hour or two.

There’s no meat in the taco, but you’re still getting the effect of Taco Bell’s not-so-natural meat. Inside, all you have is some lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and spicy avocado ranch sauce. If I were to have it again I’d add some hot or fire sauce since some bites tasted like plain chicken.

My stomach hurt a little when I found out they were discontinuing it, but I’m not sure that’s saying much since I’m a broke college student that will eat anything under $5, so take that into consideration.
