Delray Beach Fashion Week is back for the 5th year! And with half a decade under its oh-so fashionable belt, its opening night evening wear show did not disappoint. As local brands showcased some of their favorite looks of the season, we got an eyeful of a unique variety – many of which were unexpected from the Village by the Sea.
So, whether you’re more of a beach babe or downtown-ready, take a look at what you can expect to see gracing store windows along Atlantic Avenue very soon:
Black & Bell Sleeves
Put the Lilly down! This season, Delray is putting away its staple Lilly Pulitzer color palette, and taking a page out of its northern counterparts’ lookbook. From glitz and glamour to edgy and enchanting, the little black dress took center stage, just like this one from Sunday State Style. Plus, this look also hits another comeback trend – bell sleeves!
Lace & Sheer Appliqués
There was just a little bit left to the imagination with the amount of sheer lace that we saw on opening night. Whether it was a bohemian take, like the look pictured from Italian-native brand Antica Sartoria, or sultry, lace and sheer fabrics with delicate detailing took on so many styles.
Don’t shy away from making a statement this season! Bold patterns – just like the one seen in this eye-catching dress from The House of Zen Dali – spoke to us throughout the night. So, step out of your comfort zone and opt for a full-body pop of color as the weather heats up.
The power of suggestion is very real. Slinky silk dresses put us right into a summer state of mind. Slip on any handmade, Parisian prints as shown by Roxy Lulu for a chic night out. You’ll feel elegant yet sexy all night long.
Business in the front, party in the back was one of the most spotted trends of the evening. From simple cut outs to unique decor, it was clear that you can’t go wrong when opting for a more subtle “wow” factor, like the silhouette pictured from Roxy Lulu.
